Adult Faith Education

Catholic Education Services (CES) shares responsibility with other diocesan agencies and parishes for on-going faith formation and education in the diocese.

CES co-ordinates the Brisbane Institute of Faith Education's open learning programmes:

• Beginning Theology - Certificate III in Theology
• Foundations - Certificate IV in Theology
• Foundations Two - Diploma in Theology

These programmes are accredited by the Queensland Department of Employment and Training. Cairns Adult Faith Education has responsibility for the conduct of the programmes, for assessment, for meeting the requirements of the Brisbane Institute Education and of the State Department as the accrediting body, and for facilitating the issuing of Certificates through the Institute of Faith Education.

Apart from co-ordinating accredited courses Cairns Adult Faith Education offers short, non-accredited courses on request.  

It also has responsibility for organising occasional visits to the diocese by guest speakers in the fields of Scripture, Theology, and Liturgy.
